Tribute to legendary late performer David Bowie

Chris Theoret's David Bowie Show - 5The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announces Chris Theoret’s David Bowie Show – The Gift of Sound & Vision, which will take place on June 17 at 8 p.m. at the Byham Theater, located on 101 Sixth Street, Downtown Pittsburgh. David Bowie has mesmerized audiences for decades, from glam to plastic-soul, to his haunting and mysterious final album. This tribute is a high-energy showcase, that highlights David Bowie’s work from 1969 to 1984. Bowie’s work includes the release of 15 studio albums, two live albums and more than 50 singles. The show’s creator, Chris Theoret, will take center stage backed by his 12-member band, The Pretty Things. A charismatic performer in his own right, Theoret will take the audience on a mesmerizing journey through Bowie classics, from “Ashes to Ashes” to “Ziggy Stardust”-more than 30 in all. This spirited celebration will captivate lifelong Bowie fans and newcomers alike-it is sure to be a crowd-pleasing and emotional tribute to the extraordinary David Bowie.

Join us before the concert, for a special Pre-Show Party to pay homage to this legendary artist famous for his unique sense of music, style and fashion. The Pre-Show Party tickets are an additional $25 and will be held from 6-7PM at the Byham Theater lobby. This limited Pre-Show Party includes appetizers courtesy of Braddock’s Pittsburgh Brasserie, Bowie inspired truffles donated by A519 Chocolates, and one complimentary handcrafted cocktail by Täk? mixologist Maggie Merskey, with a choice of one aptly named “Ziggy Stardust” and “Aladdin Sane” cocktail. Music by DJ DETOUR will elevate the mood by digging deep into David Bowie’s collection and setting the back-beat for an evening of inspired ambiance.  There will be a special appearance by Bowie Impersonator Lefty Metzger and fashionistas wearing Bowie-inspired hair and makeup by Izzazu Salon, Spa & Serata.  All Pre-Show attendees will receive a complimentary one-year Partners Membership to the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
