Citizens Library announces 2016 summer activities

flowersbeesMonday Night Yoga – Join us every Monday evening from 5:30-7 p.m. until June 27 – Instructor Nadya Krol teaches the lyengar method, teaching proper alignment and form to insure appropriate effects – $15 per class – Yoga mat required – Yoga blocks, belt and/or scarf optional.

Supernatural Series Part II: The Bigfoot Mystery – June 8 at 6 p.m. – Join us for Part 2 of a two part series on the supernatural presented by Fred Saluga.

Readers of The Lost Ark Book Club – Meets June 16 at 6 p.m. – Book of the Month is State of Wonder by Ann Patchett.

Tween Book Club – June 16 at 6:30 p.m. & June 30 at 4 p.m. – Discuss books, make crafts & eat pizza.

Summer Reading Club Registration Day – June 20 at 11 a.m. Program events start the last week of June. Kid’s Days will be Tuesdays at 11 a.m. for students in grades 1-6. Summer Story Time will Thursdays at 11 a.m. for kids 3-Kindergarten age. Special events TBA.

Monthly Chess Club – Meets from 10-11:30 a.m., and is open to all ages and all levels of play.

LEGO Club will meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays, from 5-6 p.m. The Children’s Dept. is also accepting donations of new or gently used LEGO sets.

Drop in the Children’s Dept. on Fridays for TGIF – “Tinkering, Games, Ideas, and Fun” – All supplies, materials, and directions for a different activity, craft, game, or puzzle each week will be set up in the Children’s Dept. for anyone who stops in on Fridays.

CitiBooks, a used books bookstore in the lower level of the library, is open from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Tues & Wed; 10 a.m to 6 p.m. Thurs; & 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat CitiBooks is staffed by volunteers & all proceeds benefit the library. To volunteer, email friendsofcitizenslibrary@gmail.com.

Citibooks $5 Bag Sale – June 25 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Summer Wine Tasting Event – June 24 at 5p.m. Tickets $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Catered by Michael Passalacqua of Angelo’s Restaurant.

Teen Time – June 28 from 4-6 p.m. – Come and read, play video games and table top games, check out our tech toys, Minecraft server, make a different craft every time. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Grades 6-12.

Deck’d – June 30 from 5-8 p.m. – An evening specifically for Yu-Gi-Oh or M:TG. Drinks and snacks provided. Booster Draft Day discussion. For grades 5-12.
